My sister and I gifted each other dinners out for our birthdays, each a week apart in May and June, respectively. We finally got around to scheduling them this month. Following the strict dictum of age before beauty, we celebrated her birthday tonight at Elysian Cafe in Hoboken.
Pictured above is my Braised Short Ribs with Saffron Risotto in a Red Wine and Veal Reduction with gigantic Onion Rings. We split the Chorizo and Clams and Profiteroles and both enjoyed a lovely Tempranillo and a Cava Brut for dessert. My sister had the Coq au Vin and gifted me her leftovers. Such a giving older sister I have.
It was awesome and absolutely worthwhile.
